Kyoung Hee Kim, Ph.D., AIA, NCARB, is a Professor at UNC Charlotte’s School of Architecture, where she directs the Integrated Design Research Lab (IDRL) and teaches design studios and sustainable technology integration. With expertise in performance-based design and high-performance facades, she is a registered architect and engineer in North Carolina, and her research, totaling over $2M in funding, focuses on integrating innovative building technologies for sustainability. Dr. Kim’s contributions extend to organizing events on Women in Architecture Technology and delivering lectures globally on performance-based design and regenerative building technologies. With experience as a facade consultant at Front Inc., NYC, and numerous publications, including her book on Microalgae Building Enclosures, Dr. Kim’s work advances ecological sustainability and occupant well-being in architecture. She holds degrees from CBNU, Korea, and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
