Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Shahir Liew

Professor Ir Dr Mohd Shahir Liew earned his BSCE and PhD from Texas, USA, in 1983 and 1988, respectively, before dedicating 23 years to the offshore industries. Serving as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, he now holds the position of Vice Provost of Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia, since December 2023. In this capacity, he focuses on advancing research and knowledge exchange strategies, leading collaborative initiatives, and fostering interdisciplinary partnerships. His expertise lies in MetOcean, offshore facility design, and dynamic aspects of offshore operations. Currently, he supports various business units of PETRONAS Carigali and other oil and gas companies, championing research with industrial applications and spearheading technological advancements in digital processing for offshore facility monitoring, enhancing integrity and reliability.
